Ok everyone...I need your suggestions. You see, I have been riding my bike like, a gazillion miles a day. I get up early and ride it on the trainer, then get ready for work, pop the bike off the trainer, ride it to work, and ride it again home, AND have been doing Olympia runs on the weekends. So what I am getting at here is that I am SOOOOOOOOOO bored with the music on my MP3. I could go crazy. Actually, I haven't even been using it the past week or so because at this point I would just rather ride my bike in silence.
So what are your favorite songs to workout/run/bike/cut a rug to?
I want to hear from all of you!
This blog chronicles my life as a wife, mom, dental hygienist, photographer, and smart aleck. I make my home in Washington State. My favorite things are laughing, eating good food, taking pictures, cake decorating, blogging, and serving dental missions in third world countries. I stick my foot in my mouth so often we'll go ahead and call that a favorite hobby, too. I like to think of my blog readers as friends I invite into my home. So welcome. Come on in.

I was getting really sick of my music too, so I just downloaded some Heart on my mp3. There's also a website that lists the "100 greatest songs to work out to" that I usually steal ideas from. Unfortunately, they don't have a website entitled "100 greatest songs to walk around in your pj's drinking a glass of wine to" which is what I really needed.

OK - here's my favs:
ReplyDeleteCalabrina 2007 - Enur
All these things that I've done - The Killers
Kill Faster Pussycat - Paul Oakenfold ft. Brittany Murphy
Breat Anotha - Blake Lewis
Sandstorm - Darude
And last but not least -
Smack my Bi**h up - The Prodigy (trust me) :)
Have fun! And let me know what you think
OK, this is kind of embarassing because my workout play list is kind of private...but who cares. I've listened to this playlist in training for 2--1/2 marathons. I'm getting quite sick of it...so Jordan gave me some songs because him and I share this secret love for hip-hop. It's really rather funny. Anyway...here's a bunch...

I hate to admit it, but I really like the new Justin Timberlake/Madonna song too. It's good for workouts.

Oh my gosh you would die laughing if you knew what I had on my MP3 player. I often take it and plug it into my van and Matt is like how in the heck do you work out to this ridiculous music? Here are a few I have:
ReplyDeleteOh Sherrie -- Steve Perry
Feels Like Home -- Chantal Kreviazuk
In The Closet -- Michael Jackson
My Stupid Mouth, Bigger Than My Body, Back to You -- John Mayer
Beast of Burden -- Rolling Stones
In Your Eyes -- Peter Gabriel
Good Enough -- Cyndi Lauper (The Song from Goonies, if you hear it you will know it)
Hungry Eyes, Make Me Loose Control -- Eric Carmen
Impulsive -- Wilson Phillips
The Song Remembers When -- Tricia Yearwood
Copperline, Hello Again, Love on the Rocks -- Neil Diamond
Okay so I mostly listen to slow sappy love songs when I work out. What can I say I'm a total dork, or maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic who knows!!! I'll be in touch soon about Wednesday, Erin :)
Erin! How can you work out to that?? I would be like, "oh forget it! I'm just going to lay on my bed with a box of kleenex and a bottle of wine".
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I must say, Neil Diamond might get me pretty pumped up. Good idea. :)
Jess, maybe you would like my Summer Mix better than my "fun" mix. Hmmm. You'll have to let me know.
Erin- It cracks me up that you work out to Neil Diamond. Especially Hello Again. That's like me working out to Tracy Chapman's Fast Car. Funny, I have Beasts of Burden on my playlist right now.
ReplyDeleteOkay so I forgot I do have some upbeat stuff:
ReplyDeleteOne More Time -- Daft Punk
Magic Man, All Eyes -- Heart
I'm Free -- Kenny Loggins (Don't be knocking the Footloose Soundtrack)
Anything by Black Eyed Peas and James Taylor.
Okay, so James Taylor isn't really upbeat, but if you can't work out to Handy Man I just don't know what is wrong with you!!!!! :) Erin
Erin- Kenny Loggins- YES!!
ReplyDeleteHeart, oh, for sure. Crazy on You is my ringtone. James Taylor...did you know Dale and I saw him at the Gorge? Lots of hairy legged women in Birkenstocks...not that there's anything wrong with that.
Neil Diamond as a workout song? That cracks me up! I can totally see you listening to "Turn on Your Heartlights" with an ET doll in the basket of your bike!
ReplyDelete-Jen
Erin- I am STILL laughing that you work out to Neil Diamond. I'm always the first to make fun of myself, but I think I'd have too much pride to admit to that one.
ReplyDeleteI lost my pride long ago my friend, now I just like being blunt and totally honest most of the time. Maybe I just feel safe posting this info on your blog for some reason. I feel comfort not knowing who has seen it and is now thinking I'm a total freak. I know you'll all still accept me for who I am. :) Okay so here is another sad fact ... Heartlight is in fact on my MP3, but I usually skip that one during workouts. Jen has however now inspired me to reenact that lovely ET moment. The only problem is that I will have to ride my 5-year-old daughters bike w/training wheels since I don't have one, but it does have the basket and all. Maybe I will just wrap my two year old in the sheet to make it more realistic. That would look ultra cool.
ReplyDeletePS: Take a little glance up at the moon tonight. Who knows what you'll see. Erin
Erin! I am laughing so hard right now. Brendan keeps saying, "Mom. What? What is soo funny." I don't even know what to say to him. That is hilarious. We three need to hang out soon.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that you are laughing and it goes without saying that we definitely need to hang out soon. You know I'm always up for a night out with the girls. We always have the best times. I hear you are coming in June and I'm sure I'll see you then!!! :) Erin
